CANDY
Ian lays on the bench and looks up to the sky. There's some cherry blossoms blocking Ian's line of sight. Ian's eyes are watery. He wipes his tears and he smiles. He takes out his phone and takes a picture of the cherry blossom.
Ian gets up and leaves to class confidently.

Really?

Yup.
Classmate 1 leaves. Ian continues to the classroom door. There's a paper on the door that says class is cancelled today.
IAN
(to classmate 2)
Damn.
CLASSMATE 2
(smiles)
I know right.
Ian talks to some other classmates that class is cancelled
as he walks back to his dorm building.

CUT TO:
59 IAN'S ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - DAY
Ian (age 8) is in class. Ian, Bryan and some friends play with clay together.
Some of the students are reading, some others are writing on paper.
A teacher walks around the tables and checks on the kids.
MAYA
(shouts)
It's raining.
Everybody in class looks at the window to check the weather. Some students complain that they didn't bring their umbrellas and some students talk about how much they love the rain.
BRYAN
(to Ian)
Is your mom coming today?
IAN
I don't know. I might take the bus.
BRYAN
Me too. My parents are always busy.
IAN
Me too. My mom works a lot. She’s an accountant. She always talks about how much work she has. But it's okay. She says that's how she can feed me.
BRYAN
My dad always says the same thing too. They say they are working because of me. So I have to take care of my brother.
IAN
You have brother?
BRYAN
Yeah. He’s so annoying.
IAN
I wish I had a brother.
BRYAN
It's better not to have one.
IAN
I have a little cousin. She is so cute.
BRYAN
I don't know. Sisters might be better than brothers.
IAN
I don't think that's true. Because she has an older brother but he seems like he hates her.
BRYAN
(nods)
I understand.
The teacher walks around the table and back to the front.
TEACHER
Okay, guys. pack up your stuff and let's go home. Don't forget about our homework for tomorrow.
Everybody packs their stuff and leaves.
60 EXT. IN FRONT OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - CONTINUOUS
Ian walks with Bryan to the door.
BRYAN
Nice! There's my mom’s car. Bye Ian!
Bryan runs over to his mom. Ian looks around the school. It is still raining. There's so many parents waiting for their kids with umbrellas. But Ian can't find Jennifer. Ian walks to take school bus in the rain.
JENNIFER
(shouts)
Ian!
Ian looks back and sees Jennifer walking toward him. Ian runs to Jennifer and hugs her.
IAN
I didn't know if you were coming.
JENNIFER
Oh baby, how could I not come for you? It's raining. I finished up work as quick as I could.
Jennifer and Ian walk to Jennifer's car.
IAN
(O.S.)
Mom, I'm so happy. The rain is so cold, right?
